We have a HAAS UMC-750 5-axis machining centre and 2 UMC 500 5-axis machining centres. These machines are primarily used for machining components with detail on 6 faces (of a cube). The machines decrease set-ups, improve accuracy, extend cycle time between manual interventions, reduce manpower and ‘through-tool’ coolant facilitates fast material removal important when machining parts ‘from the solid’.
A Datron M8 Cube with a vacuum bed and a working range of X-1000mm Y-700mm Z-200mm is used for machining primarily ‘flat’ parts such as aluminium face plates and bezels.
We use a Keyence IM-Series co-ordinate measuring machine for checking of hole sizes and positions and Mitutoyo S5-410 for measure surface roughness.
